The story behind the photo: I took this photo during my first summer in Yellowstone in 1993 in the days before I began work in Yellowstone. My mother, myself, my sister Gloria and brother Alex were with me all seeing Old Faithful erupt for the first time. I took this on a cheap camera that did not even use 35mm film. The picture is nothing special except that I was able to combine this picture with three others in order to make the animated GIF which is on the home page. The images don't line up perfectly. In fact two of the pictures were taken vertically and two horizontally. I do not think they were all taken from quite the same spot, but I still like the effect.
